Everyone needs to go to Paducah Quilt Week at least once!

This is a MUST go to show.    If you have ever thought of going you really need to make it happen, this is a quilt show like no other.  It is SO MUCH more than a quilt show.  It’s much more like a festival.  Everything is NOT in one building but everything is easy accessible.  There are free trolley’s (including a horse and buggy)

There are great places to visit in the downtown–not the least of which includes a bakery with sweet treats that were truly among the best I have ever eaten.

This Quilted Pig met us at one of the trolley stops outside the art gallery.

I didn’t take any pictures but outside of the main building there were some food trucks, and the boy scouts sell their “famous” Strawberry Shortcake, there were some other not for profit groups  with food as well–all of this led to the ‘festival’ feeling of this quilt show.

You will meet people from all over, I met people who were first timers like us and people who make it their annual pilgrimage.  People who attend for only a day–though I don’t think you can do it all in a day–and people who come for several days and take classes.

To top it off we met this guy…

a Paducah Original–I had read about him before so I was a bit ‘starstruck’ that I got to meet him and get a picture with him.

I could go on and on–but really don’t experience it through my words.  Make your plans and see it yourself, at least once!
